- Well... not quite... The way to do this kind of thing is by
- finding the current view (and storing it!) first. Then do
- a loadview with a nulll (oops :) viewport. Now the chips
- are in a known default state, and poking them directly is safe.
- To get the old screen back, you just loadview with the old view-
- port you stored before.
